Road Trip – Monster Bash at the Canton Palace August 2023

It has been a while since I’ve been to a proper event/screening. Sort of got out of the habit with COVID but I decided it was time to get back in the theater watching movies. Now as many of you may know most new movies just don’t do it for me or at least motivate me to hit a brick and mortar theater. Sure, I’ll go to the drive-in, but the setting is what gets me there and the movies are just icing on the cake. But when I realized I’d have the chance to check out a couple favorites on the big screen for the first time I had to check it out!

Before I start I thought I’d fill you guys in on where and what I was doing. First up the event was held at the Canton Palace Theater. If you have read some of my earlier Road Trip articles you will notice that this is a theater that I frequently (or at least in the past) have visited. This restored movie palace, and it really is, comes complete with a gentlemen’s lounge, the original pipe organ, and a classic atmosphere that adds to the experience of going to the movies that much cooler. The Palace Theater was built when going to the movies was an event and they manage to capture that magic even today.

Monster Bash is a cool convention held in Pittsburgh. Not only does their show kick ass but they have all sorts of neat merchandise for sale at their tables. You may see them as they frequently setup at other shows. The folks involved have a real love for the classics from the Universal flicks, the cheesy giant bug movies of the fifties, to the in your face fun of Hammer if you dig old school horror/sci-fi these guys have something for you. That is why the line up of movies for the Friday/Saturday show was so killer. While I didn’t go to the Friday screenings, I wasn’t going to miss Saturday. Now that I’m done rambling lets get to the day.

The Pipe Organ played between screenings
I met my brother-in-law Richard for some lunch. The usual suspects bailed on me, so he was going to be my wingman for part of the show. If it matters, and it really doesn’t but folks like to blog about food, I had a nice double cheeseburger and some tomato basil soup. Then we hit a local department store on the way and I found a nice Mego Hammer Frankenstein. It seemed on theme for the day’s events, so I thought I’d mention it. I collect all the Mego monsters and get a real kick out of them. As a child of the seventies I always felt bad that I missed out on them when they were new so that wasn’t going to happen to me again.

We finally arrived at the Palace before the first screening. Had a few minutes to wander around talking to the dealers. There weren’t a lot of vendors setup, mostly I think due to the lack of space. They only have the upper and lower lobbies for tables. But I did meet some nice people and scoped somethings out for later purchase. Then it was time for the first movie.

Target Earth (1954) is a fun little science fiction flick with some familiar names attached. I’ve always liked this one and have already reviewed it for the site, review link here. I was wondering how the admittedly goofy looking robot monsters were going to play for the audience and I wasn’t disappointed. There was some laughing, but not in a bad way. People were enjoying the movie I think… at least I hope so. I don’t feel the need to go much farther into this one as I’ve reviewed it and you can check that out at the link I’ve already mentioned.

Now this is a proper robot!
After the movie it was time to buy some stuff. I picked up some odds and ends like a cool button and patch. I like to deck my convention gear (jacket, bag) with some spooky themed accessories. I also finally upgraded my old snap case DVD of The Thing from Another World to a nice Blu-ray. If you don’t know what a snap case is it was one of the original cardboard cases for DVDs before they went to the current packaging we are used to now. Sort of a transition from the old cardboard sleeves on VHS and the later hard plastic cases for DVDs with it being a bit of each. Being one of my favorite fifties flicks it was time for this to happen.

There was also a boardgame that is billed as playing out like a movie. They have versions that lean into Aliens (Area 51) and Zombies (Pittsburgh ’68). It looks like a good time and I can’t wait to break them out and get a few sessions in. One other thing I grabbed was a t-shirt inspired by some of the animation in the credits for Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. I love that movie and you hardly ever find anything related to it. But then if anyone was going to have something it would be Monster Bash.

Richard called it a day before the second movie started so I was flying solo. The Thing from Another World (1951) is another favorite of mine. This was a big deal for me since it is the first time that I ever had the chance to watch it on the big screen in a proper theater. This is another movie that I’ve already covered for the site, which you can check out here. The short of it is an alien attacks an isolated research facility at the North Pole and it is up to Kenneth Tobey and friends to save the Earth! It was a blast and the crowd was a lot less silly with this movie. It still has the ability to be creepy and engaging to a modern audience used to explicit gore and violence.

Between this and the next screening I wandered around the vendors area again. Talked to some more attendees about nerdy movie stuff. That is a must for me since I don’t have people in my regular life that are into these like I am. It is always good to be amongst “my people”. I also found another t-shirt, this time a cool Bowery Boys themed Monster Bash shirt. I love those movies and do plan on covering all fifty plus of them someday for the site. Then it was time for the next movie to start.

Invasion of the Saucer Men (1957) is a movie that I have always loved. I remember distinctly catching it the first time on Superhost which was a local Saturday afternoon movie show here in Northeast Ohio. As a kid I loved the aliens, which even if you haven’t seen the movie (and many folks haven’t) are iconic enough that people recognize them even if they don’t know what movie they came from.

I realized as of the writing of this I’ve not covered the movie for the site. I need to do that sooner rather than later as again it is one of my favorites. Because of that I’ll go into a bit more detail with this movie. Here we have adults ignoring the teenagers, the army being incompetent, creepy little aliens, and a bull that loves to drink beer! Bullets don’t hurt them but headlights do and they will kill you by injecting you with alcohol… which mostly just makes people drunk. The movie plays out like a parody of the creature flicks of the era with a healthy bit of satire of authority figures. That last bit is very different from what I’d expect of a movie like this. The army and adults in general are incompetent and not to be trusted. As an adult I dig the subtlety of it though the younger me just liked the monsters.

There was another movie to be shown yet but I’ve already seen The Blob (1958) before in a theater. Hell, it was at the Canton Palace Theater (link to my write up here). It had been a long day and I’m not as young as I used to be so I decided to call it after Saucer Men ended. I consider this to be another successful day of nerding out and can’t wait for next year when I get to do it all again.

With that in mind I highly recommend you check out Monster Bash’s website. The show is shaping up to be a good time and I never need that much of an excuse to visit Pittsburgh! If you happen to be in the Canton Ohio area you should check out The Canton Palace Theater. They have some fun screenings coming up with Pee Wee’s Big Adventure and Animal House. They haven’t put anything up for October yet, but they also normally have at least a Rocky Horror showing around the 31st. Oh and I must recommend their Three Stooges night that normally takes place in April. Check out their website here for more information and to see what they announce.

Road Trip to the Drive-in – Vin and Nic double feature!

After a few aborted attempts to make my way to the drive-in, the weather in Ohio never cooperates this time of year, I finally got to watch some movies outside under the stars. I do love my local drive-in theaters and yes I’m lucky to have a few around me. Within a forty minute drive I have three, but my favorite is Magic City, which is where I managed to catch a double feature of Fast X and Renfield.

I got to Magic City early enough that there wasn’t much of a line. I was a bit concerned about it being the Sunday before Memorial Day, but it wasn’t too bad. Though cars kept arriving after I was parked and even during the first twenty minutes of Fast X. After getting a primo spot I headed off to the snack bar to pick up my traditional treat. While they still have cheeseburgers and hotdogs, I’ve always been partial to some tasty hot pretzels with nacho cheese. Since I’ve missed out on a couple of weeks due to rain, I thought I’d pick up a couple of them. Yeah, a lame excuse but I’m a grown ass man so if I want to eat badly then I can! They were quite good in case you were wondering.

After some previews of coming attractions our first movie of the night kicked off. Say what you want to about the Fast and Furious film franchise, but I like it. These flicks are all about fast cars defying gravity while being loud and dumb. That last bit doesn’t just apply to the action sequences either. Fast X checked all those boxes with returning characters, including one in the post credits scene that surprised the hell out of me. Don’t they hate each other? Then again, these movies are a virtual license to print money so I suppose they were able to bury whatever beef they might have for a fat payday.

Without going into too many details and spoiling the flick I can say that this movie was decent. In fact, my only real complaint is that it ends on a cliffhanger that will have to wait a couple of years for them to resolve in the next and supposedly final entry. Though at some point during production I thought they said Fast X was the big finale. Confused? See my point above about how much money these flicks make.

After a brief intermission where I used the men’s room it was time for Renfield to start. This movie has been out for a while but since I don’t do brick and mortar theaters anymore this was my first chance to check it out. I remember this one catching my attention when I first heard that Nic Cage was playing Dracula. I’ve been loving his recent output (Willy’s Wonderland is killer) and was looking forward to it. Honestly though this was a mixed bag for me.

The movie is at its best when Cage is on screen chewing up scenery. He plays an excellent, scary Dracula all while still being a bit quirky. This leads to some funny lines of dialogue and a lot of blood and guts. Hell, even when he isn’t on screen there is a ton of gore happening. Arms getting torn off, throats ripped to shreds, as well as Riki-Oh style x-ray shots showing organs and bones getting pulverized are just a few of the highlights. Some of this is practical effects work but even the CGI is done well enough that it is a good time.

But when the movie is focused on the titular character things slow down a bit. I don’t blame the actor, Nicholas Hoult, as he is very good in the role. It is just that the script doesn’t give him much to do other than be mopey and spout off self help nonsense he learned in his support group. He also gets a love interest in local cop Rebecca, who is played by Awkwafina. Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of her but she is legitimately good here despite also not being given much to do. There is also a criminal family that gets zero development and almost feels like a late addition to the script to setup the finale. So, we have good gore and a decent cast that is let down by an underdeveloped script. I’ve seen this story done much better in the Pittsburgh lensed Innocent Blood. Still, I was happy to have caught this in the drive-in and not waited to see it streaming at home.

As the credits rolled, I packed up my stuff and headed home. It was a beautiful night to watch some movies under the stars and an even better one for a nice ride home. I sincerely hope that the weather is good for a few more trips this summer and that the double features are appealing. If I head out again I’ll post them here. I’d also love to hear from you guys about your favorite trips to the drive-in. Until next time keep watching crappy movies!

Road Trip to Dead End Cinema – ‘50s Double Feature Night

Damn it has been a long time since I was able to toss one of these Road Trip reports together. Between COVID and the time of year there wasn’t an opportunity. My good friends Mr. and Mrs. Fright announced that they were reopening their backyard drive-in. The first night was a Clint Eastwood night, but we only made it thru one flick, so I didn’t have much to talk about. But with a full double feature on night two it gave me plenty to report.

The day started off early as my buddy Sean and I had an morning event to attend. I’m nerdy in ways other than movies and was running an event for Goodman Games at our local hobby store. After that we hit up a late lunch and ran some errands before driving to the Fright estate! By the time we got there they were already setting up the screen and gear. We also had a chance to hang out and shoot the shit about movies, how much the pandemic sucked, and family drama. Mostly my family drama… long story that I’m not going to talk about here. Then it was time for some movies!

This week’s double feature was a pair of classic fifties flicks. The first up was The Thing from Another World. I’ve covered this for the site already, you can read the review here, but I’ll give a brief recap for those that haven’t seen it before. This gem stars familiar face Kenneth Tobey who showed up in a lot of science fiction and horror movies. Though most younger fans will probably recognize him as the gas station attendant that buys the smokeless ash tray in Gremlins. We also get an appearance from Marshall Dillon himself James Arness, though he is buried under the monster makeup as he is the Thing.

The story unfolds with an air force crew being summoned to an artic base to assist some scientists. It seems that a UFO has crashed nearby, and they are to assist in the recovery. That doesn’t go well, and they lose the ship, though they do find one of the passengers and bring it back to base. It thaws out and goes on a killing spree. This movie sets up the classic tropes of what many future science fiction flicks would use. The scientist blinded to danger in the pursuit of knowledge and the isolated setting that so many stories would use later. This is a fantastic flick that everyone should watch.

After a short break to get refills and use the bathroom the bottom half of the double bill started. What pairs well with The Thing from Another World? How about Vincent Price in the Fly? This is another classic that everyone must see. Price plays Francois a wealthy industrialist who tries to figure out why his sister-in-law killed his brother. They were a very happy couple, and it makes no sense. Not only does she admit to the crime but refuses to tell anyone why she did it.

Eventually Francois tricks her into talking and he is horrified to hear that his brother was experimenting with a teleportation device when it went horribly wrong. In the process of experimenting on himself he rematerialized with the head and arm of a fly, with his head and arm buzzing away from him on the body of the fly. Obviously, things don’t go well since we know he is dead, crushed under an industrial press so that he is unrecognizable. The drama is whether they can convince the police that she is innocent, especially since all the evidence was destroyed, except for the fly that is.

This really is a must watch for anyone that considers themselves a fan of the horror genre. Hell, it has one of the most iconic scenes in movie history with human headed fly caught in a spider’s web calling out “Help me…help me”. I realize that I’ve not covered this for the website yet so keep an eye out as I’m determined to correct that.

That wrapped up the night at the Dead End Cinema and a rather successful one at that. I had a blast watching a couple of classics, talking movies with friends, and generally just getting out of the house. It still feels weird to be allowed to be around my peeps again. Before we left plans were already being made for the next event. The theme is action movies with aliens. The double feature? Predator and They Live! I’m already excited for this one. Until next time stay safe and watch some good movies.

Road Trip to see Sam Jones – He saved every one of us edition.

It has been a while since I’ve done one of these road trip write ups. With the Coronavirus cancelling everything there hasn’t been much to do or talk about. But now that I’ve got my second shot and things are loosening up a bit, I thought it was time to get back out there again and have some fun. Don’t worry though I’m still wearing my mask and keeping my hands washed. We still need to be careful you know.

When my friends Eric and Angie, of Midnight Magazine, let me know that the great Sam Jones was touring comic book shops to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the Flash Gordon movie I knew that I had to see him. I mean this was one of my favorite flicks as a kid and Flash was right up there with Luke Skywalker for me. I might be an old fat bald guy but I’m still that kid at heart and damn it I’m going to meet him!

Plans were made and I started looking around for what I wanted to get signed. I have a cool DVD release of the movie and it came with a nifty insert card so that was perfect. I also decided to get an 8x10 off of his table as well. Now that I had a plan on what I was to get autographed I needed to think about the picture. I needed a perfect shirt for this, and I found one on Amazon. It is a replica of the red and white shirt from the first encounter with Ming in his throne room. Yeah guys I was that nerdy and wore the shirt to meet the actor! I did mention that this was a big deal to me so deal with it.

I got up bright and early Saturday morning and headed off to Eric and Angie’s house. We were going to carpool over to the comic shop and get some food afterward. It was a decent morning, and the drive was fine. I arrived early and was able to sit around chatting with them about the day’s plans as well as just talking movies and comics. I miss my friends, and this has been or at least felt like a long winter. After shooting the shit for a while we piled in the car and headed off to the comic shop.

Comics, Cards, and Collectables used to be one of my frequent haunts thirty plus years ago when I was in College. Yes, in addition to being a movie nerd I also used to be a comic book nerd! I had never been to his new location, so it was interesting to see as well as a bit nostalgic being in a comic shop again. The signing took place in their backroom which is more like a warehouse. Mr. Jones hadn’t arrived yet, so I took that opportunity to browse a bit. I picked up a couple of old Starlog magazines including one of their poster books. They were in the dollar bin and were in excellent shape. Mostly I just had fun digging thru comics and magazines looking for treasures.

The guest of honor arrived, and I waited patiently for my turn. When my number was called, I brought my DVD up to his table and picked out the picture I wanted him to sign. I can honestly say that Sam Jones is one of the nicest guys that I’ve ever met. Making sure everyone who was there had their time to talk to him and he commented on everyone’s items. A lot of times at these signings the celebrity gets into an assembly line mode but not here. It was fun to hear him talk to the fans and ask them where they got their item and talk about the similar things he has seen in the past. He was engaging and charming, which made getting to meet him all the cooler. Oh, and before anyone sends me an angry message yes I’m not wearing a mask in the picture with him. We took them off before the pictures were taken and put them right back on afterwards. Safety first you know!

After getting our stuff signed and talking to the other folks at the shop we headed out for a nice lunch of Mexican food at a local place. Then Eric and Angie took me over to a new record store that not only had some cool music for sale, I picked up a couple L.A. Guns CDs… yes actual physical media, but also one of the establishments that sells Midnight Magazine. I picked up a few other goodies, hung out for a while longer talking movies, and then headed home.

All in all it was an amazing day meeting one of my childhood heroes. Here is hoping that the rest of this year gives me more opportunities to get out into the world, hang out with my friends, and do fun stuff like this. To get there we need to continue to be careful, wear your masks, get the shot, and generally think about others when you are in public. If we all keep vigilant we will get thru this and get back to normal.

Road Trip to the Drive-in – Coronavirus edition

Well this year has been crap as I’m sure you all know. Normally I have a few road trip posts here on Crappy Movie Reviews. This year not so much. All of my events have been cancelled and I’ve been locked up in my house only leaving for work and to pick up groceries. I’ve even avoided going to the drive-in as the idea of being around people just didn’t appeal to me. Though I’ve been waiting for an event that I couldn’t refuse. This Friday night they hit me with a double feature that I had to see.

Thursday I was checking on the internet and noticed that one of my favorite haunts, The Magic City drive-in was advertising a double feature that made me sit up straight in my chair in excitement. The original Evil Dead and Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn paired up! I love both of these flicks and watch them during my annual horror movie marathon in October. I’ve been antsy, probably due to nothing else happening, to get my creepy on and this seemed like a good way to kick things off. After discussing it with my lovely wife I decided to go… with some additional precautions.

Mask up and Sanitize!
After fortifying myself with a tasty burger at a local carhop, luckily my hometown still has such things, I headed off. I arrived at Magic City early in case there was a big crowd. There was a short line to get in, but it wasn’t too bad. The turnout was decent, but it wasn’t too crowded so people could spread out a bit. Given the pandemic that made things a bit more comfortable. I found my spot setup my portable boom box and masked up for a trip to buy some candy. Returning to “old blue” which is what I named my Honda, I sat back and waited for the fun to start. Just as it was getting dark Bruce Campbell's face appeared and the fun commenced.

Now I’m not going to rehash the movies. I’m going to assume that if you are here reading this you have already watched Evil Dead and Evil Dead II. They are legit classics that all real horror fans have taken the time to check out. But if you haven’t and want more information you can check out my reviews here and here. Again, both movies are must watch for anyone interested in horror and horror comedy.

You must have a proper setup
Since I’m not going to go into detail on the movies, I thought it would be fun to talk about the experience. I’m of the age that I was old enough to have caught these movies on VHS release but not on the big screen. I did get to see the third entry, Army of Darkness, during its initial theatrical release when I was in college. I’ve also had the chance to see Evil Dead at a special screening called Twelve Hours of Terror. But this is the first time I’ve had the chance to see either of them at the drive-in. I’m a huge nerd so seeing them from the comfort of my own car under the stars was very special. In my mind this is how the movies were meant to be viewed and I never thought that I’d get to see them like this. Needless to say, I was a very happy camper.

I really needed this. I’ve had some fun hanging out with my friends in their backyard cinema watching movies outside, but the rest of this year has sucked. All of my conventions, Cinema Wasteland, Grossfest, and Ghoulardifest have been cancelled. The special screenings I normally attend at the Canton Palace Theater, Stoogefest, the Twilight Zone marathon, and Monster Bash have also been called off. Twelve Hours of Terror which caps off every October for me is also skipping this year. I’ve also heard rumors that some of the venues may not recover so some of these events might never return. That makes me very sad.

I’m so ready for January to roll around and hopefully we can put this pandemic behind us. Until then all we can do is make do with what we have. Thanks to Magic City and the companies who are dusting off some old favorites and giving us fans a chance to check them out at the drive-in. Hopefully I’ll have at least a couple more chances to make another trip out before the weather gets too chilly.

Road Trip to 12 Hours of Terror 2019 at the Capitol Theater

Well it is October again and that means it was time for my annual pilgrimage to the beautiful Capitol Theater for my favorite horror movie marathon. Last year we had some crazy weather-related shenanigans, but this year it was beautiful out and things were looking up.

Frequent wingman Dustin headed up with me this year. We had to get an even earlier start than usual since the show started at six this year instead of eight. There was some event that was going to shut the street down Sunday morning, so I guess they needed all of us weirdos to clear out before then. Works for me since I never get more than four or five movies in before heading home. An earlier start meant maybe more horror for me and I’m always down for that.

Arriving a couple hours early we got very lucky and found an empty parking spot right next to the theater. It is always an awesome thing when that happens because as much as I love the Capitol finding somewhere to park can be a pain in the butt. After that we headed across the street to grab some food at a nearby bar. I discovered this place last year and it had some great pizza. This year I got the “Cleveland” Cheesesteak Sandwich, which I guess is the local take on the classic Philly Cheesesteak. It was pretty damn good with some spicy cheese melted in a pile of meat. Fortified with a hearty meal I was ready for a marathon of movie watching.

Tickets were purchased and seats found we settled in for some fun. In between the flicks they were showing the old Elvira MTV Halloween special with some fun trailers and commercials mixed in. This is what was playing as we were getting comfortable and getting our snacks. We also got to meet our “neighbors” for the evening and chatted them up a bit. One of the best parts about an event like 12 Hours of Terror is hanging with likeminded fans. Living out in the sticks it is hard to find people who dig this stuff as much as I do, even this time of year. It is always much appreciated to get some horror talk in.

Movie one was Nightmare on Elm Street. Okay I need to be honest here and admit that I’m not a Wes Craven fan. This is especially true of the Elm Street series. Even when it was new, I never liked it. Something about Freddy getting you in your dreams and his eventual wisecracking persona just never did it for me. I was always a Jason Vorhees and Michael Myers kind of dude, so I wasn’t thrilled with either of the first two movies showing, the other being Scream. But I have to say I enjoyed Nightmare way more than I thought I would.

For me seeing it with an audience made all the difference in the world. I had found and watched the series on VHS back in the day and had never seen any of the Elm Street movies in a theater. Seeing how it played to other people made all the difference in the world and in spite of my longstanding dislike for the series I ended up having a pretty good time. Not sure if I never got the humor or if it just works better for me now that I’m older but I might be a fan. I’m going to have to check out the other movies in the franchise soon.

The second move was them doubling down on Wes Craven by showing Scream. Now here is a movie that I did see in the theater when it first came out. I’ve always had a complicated relationship with this one. When it originally was released I was hoping to get a new slasher movie and of course that isn’t what we got at all. More referential of the genre than reverential to it I’ve always been bugged by Scream. I had the feeling that on some level Craven was sort of making fun of the fans. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say that it is funny, scary at times, and iconic in its own way. This is another instance of me enjoying the movie even more because of the shared experience of watching it with an audience. I think that this is going to be a common theme for the night.

This year we got not one but two mystery movies! First up was Girl on the Third Floor, a new release that has been getting a lot of buzz at different festivals. I’m not a wrestling fan so I had no idea who C.M. Punk was but didn’t expect much of him as an actor. The guy ended up being really good in what is at its core a haunted house movie. Very spooky with some decent gore and a twist ending that I rather liked. This was a very good movie that I’d recommend people track down. I know it is hitting a VOD release soon.

Movie number four was Bloody Birthday. This fit in nicely with the theme of the evenings events as it was the 10th year and they were serving birthday cake during the break after this movie. If you haven’t seen Bloody Birthday, and you really should, it is a fun killer kid flick. Not much in the way of gore, but the child actors chew up just enough scenery to make this a blast to watch. Seeing people react to it and the amount of humor, intentional or not, was one of the highlights of the night.

After getting some free cake and ice cream I headed back to my seat for the Parasite 3D. This “gem” from Empire Pictures (Charles Band’s company) stars a very young Demi Moore and has to do with a lab experiment gone wrong, a futuristic hitman, and some weird gang of hooligans. Honestly the movie doesn’t make a bit of sense, but it does have a fun creature designed by Stan Winston. Plus, they pull off some good gags with the 3D effects. I wouldn’t recommend watching it in 2D, but if you get the chance to see it in the third dimension do so.

In the past I had never made it past the fifth movie, but this year I decided to at least see what the second mystery movie was. As soon as I saw the word Wingnut on the screen, I realized that I was not going anywhere. One of my favorite splatter movies of the nineties Dead Alive (aka. Braindead) is an early effort from Peter Jackson and features some of the craziest zombie related action that you will ever see on the screen! This was the first time I’ve had the chance to see it properly in a theater and it was great. The gore, the dialogue, the over the top acting, it all plays so well. I’m not sure but given the reaction of the audience it appeared that this was a first watch for quite a few people as well so that added some extra energy to the room.

There was one more movie to go after this. Was this going to be the first year that I made it to the end? No, it was not. It was getting very late and the last movie of the night was the Dawn of the Dead remake. While I like that movie there was little motivation for me to sit thru it. I saw it in the theater during its first run, so it wasn’t that big of a deal. Dustin and I decided to head home before it started. Even calling it a night with one left to go I still got to see the sun rise before I stepped foot on my porch.

To sum things up the 10th annual 12 Hours of Terror was a blast. In spite of not being too excited about the lineup I ended up a ton of fun. This event has become something that I look forward to all year long. Getting to see old favorites on the big screen with other fans makes me feel like I’m experiencing them as they were meant to be seen. In the case of this year’s show it might even have changed my opinion on a franchise that I was never enamored with. That is why I don’t miss the chance to attend this and many of the other great events put on at the Capitol Theater. If you live anywhere near Cleveland you should make the effort to check them out at https://www.clevelandcinemas.com/location/20340/Capitol-Theatre.
